Who we are

A thoughtful, down-to-earth Christian community

First Christian Church is a small mainline congregation rooted in Wagoner. We keep things simple and genuine: open hearts, honest questions, weekly Communion, and a circle of people who look out for one another. Whether you grew up in church, drifted away from it, or have never quite felt at home in one, you're welcome to come as you are.

An open table

Like Disciples congregations everywhere, we share Communion every Sunday — and everyone is welcome, no exceptions. The table belongs to Christ, not to us.

Room for real faith

We read Scripture thoughtfully and leave room for honest questions. You don't have to have it all figured out to belong here.

Rooted in Wagoner

We're neighbors, retirees, teachers, and working families who love this town. Our hope is to be a faithful, useful presence in the community we call home.

What does “Disciples of Christ” mean?

A mainline church with a wide welcome

The Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) is a mainline Protestant denomination of more than 3,000 congregations across the United States and Canada. Disciples are known for a simple, generous spirit: unity in Christ, a welcome to all at the Lord's Table, and freedom for each person to study Scripture and follow Jesus with an open mind.

If you come from a Presbyterian, Methodist, Baptist, or other Christian background — or none at all — you'll likely find the Disciples way familiar and refreshingly unfussy.
